frozen pond
The reason I took this photo is because, I go to this specific pond once every winter. This frozen pond funnily enough reminds me of a really good movie I watched a long time ago, called Interstellar. There is a planet in that movie that caught my eye through it's plain yet captivating land structures and colors. It was called Mann's planet. The land color matches very closely to the frozen pond shown above. I am trying to convey that even a simple frozen pond, can remind you of something complex and elegant.Lively pond |
Like many other images in this portfolio this image is also deeply rooted in my memory. I have went across this specific pond at least a thousand times. I used to walk to school throughout elementary and middle, and almost every single time caught by the refined reflections, shown in the pond. Sometime acting exactly like a mirror, capturing any moving object around it. Sometimes acting as a shelter for many duck and geese. |
Interesting flowers of winter
This is an particularly interesting flower, I look at this and wonder why did the tree evolve to have this type of flower which is on it even in cold winters. Does this protect it from the harsh climate in someway? It is a quite fascinating occurrence, similar to the pinecone. I am trying to convey how even a seemingly small and insignificant thing, can have a interesting change. |
Flurry storm
This image reminds me of the first time I came to America, and witnessed snow firsthand. Like, shown in this image the snow wasn't particularly heavy, but the landscape was full of it. There were a bunch of small snowflakes blowing hard with the wind. Feeling almost like a thousand microscopic needles intrusively dashing into your face. It wasn't a very good experience. But, I guess it became a important memory.Green pond

Similar to the last image this was the beauty of nature I experienced when I first came to America, The combination of the trees with the blue sky, and a pond was really sensational. Even in most parts of India the population is so dominant that blue skies are once in a million occurrence. Conversely, here even in winter there is a lot of beauty in the combinations. (note: i took this image earlier this year, that is why the pond isn't frozen yet.) |
